Dear Island Girl
Dear Island Girl,
I have a problem. My boyfriend and I have been dating for about nine months now and I really like him but there is a problem. We live in New Jersey and he has always vacationed in Atlantic City. He says why travel so far when there is a beach right here.
On the other hand, I just recently moved up north (about a year ago) and love the Outer Banks, and do not really want to spend a week in Atlantic City.
I want to go to John's Drive Inn and get a chocolate peanut butter milk shake, walk to the pier and take a day trip to Ocracoke. I love the Village Beach Club in Nags Head and have already planned my shell collecting days.
I cannot imagine not seeing an Outer Banks sunset for another year.
He says he will not go, so what should I do?

Island Girl is right! Obviously your boyfriend has never been to the Outer Banks before. What a gorgeous place! If he loves you then maybe he should give it a try and if not...then it's his loss. There are more fish in the see on the Outer Banks. See ya on the beach!
